There is trouble afoot in the halls of government. Plans are being made to super-regulate internet radio, by charging hefty tariffs, and thereby silencing radio voices from all over the globe. ( it will start in the US, but will surely happen in other countries as well).  Stations like ours, Sweewater Folk, are threatened – as well as other internet radio stations and live streaming of existing radio stations. This scheme has seemed to come on rather suddenly, which makes it harder to fight. I have just written my Congressman about my concerns on this issue, and I would ask that you do so as well. I don’t know if we can affect change this quickly…..but we will find our world a quieter, less interesting place if we don’t at least try. The copy below is from Live365.com. In the time that Sweetwater Folk has been on the air at Live365.com, we have seen added awareness of mountain and hammered dulcimer music, not only here in the US, but around the world as well.
